Through our partnership with Juniper, the Y offers evidence-based programs designed to help you move better, feel stronger, and live more confidently. Whether you are looking to prevent diabetes, reduce your risk of falls, or improve your balance and independence, there is a class here for you.

Tai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance

This 12-week program meets two or three times a week and guides you through progressive tai ji quan movements designed to build strength, improve balance, and help you move with greater ease and stability. Each session includes a warm-up, eight therapeutic forms, and a cool-down. No prior experience is needed — this class is open to everyone. Developed at the Oregon Research Institute, it is a proven approach to fall prevention and lasting independence.

Stay Active and Independent for Life S.A.I.L.

S.A.I.L. is a 24-session program designed to help you reduce your risk of falls and stay strong and independent. Meeting two or three times a week, each one-hour class focuses on strength, balance, and overall fitness. Exercises can be done seated or standing, so everyone is welcome regardless of mobility level. Developed with support from the CDC, S.A.I.L. gives you the tools to move through life with confidence.

Prevent T2 — Diabetes Prevention Program

Led by a trained lifestyle coach, Prevent T2 helps you make lasting, healthy changes at a pace that works for you. You will learn practical strategies for weight management, physical activity, smarter eating, and stress management — all while being supported by a group of people on the same journey. This program is developed by the CDC and is built around real-life solutions, not quick fixes.

Rock-Steady Boxing

A non-contact, boxing-based program for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. Through challenging exercises focused on balance, core strength, rhythm, and gross motor skills, Rock Steady Boxing offers hope and helps improve range of motion, gait, flexibility, posture, and overall quality of life.
